Winter Skincare Tips

Post written by Leanne Perilly
when we are in our forties, fifties, or sixties. It’s essential to re-evaluate our skincare regimen and make-up routine to achieve a more youthful look. Some products can enhance our age, which is the opposite of what we want. Here are some tips to help you look younger and feel more confident:
- Opt for lightweight, hydrating formulas to counteract the drying effects of aging skin. These formulas look softer and more glowing than matte ones, which can settle into lines.
- Look for make-up products with skincare ingredients to treat the skin while covering and perfecting it. These products can add more hydration and luminosity. Hyaluronic acid can smooth the appearance of skin, make pores look smaller, and visibly reduce wrinkles. Hydrating primers with hyaluronic acid can be applied under foundation or worn alone for a more even-looking skin tone.
- Have a personal stylist help you find the best colours to wear near and on your face to brighten and lift your complexion.
- Add warmer shades to your make-up to add warmth and avoid looking pale and pasty. A light bronzer can be your new best friend.
- Re-think your make-up style and try softer kohl or kajal pencils for a softer definition or smokiness around the eyes. Avoid highly glittery products that can accentuate fine lines and wrinkles.
- Choose satin and sheen finishes that add luminosity to the eyes and brighten for a wide-awake look, instead of frosted or matte lipsticks that may make the lips appear dry and dull.
- Apply softer colours to the eyes, such as brown, smokey grey, aubergine, or green eyeliners.
- Don’t over-contour your cheeks, as too much contour can make your cheeks appear hollow.
- Use setting sprays with added glow and radiance to set your look rather than setting powder, which may settle into lines.
